DISCOVERY BREAKOUT (Attendees Who Are Not Owners But Want to Learn More)

Course Objectives - This course is intended for clinicians and team members who have a desire to learn more about the process of digital restorative dentistry through lecture and hands-on. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the differences, advantages and disadvantages between various restorative materials
  • Understand why both labs and dental practices use digital scanning and CAD/CAM to fabricate restorations
  • Understand the science and studies ofthe 10 year clinical success of IPS e.max
  • Identify and describe proper preparation guidelines for the success of IPS e.max press and IPS e.max CAD
  • Identify and describe proper bonding and cementing protocols for the success of IPS e.max press and IPS e.max CAD
  • Evaluate, analyze and comprehend how to take an accurate shade for IPS e.max
  • Identify and describe the digital restorative workflow through hands-on digital impression scan, margination, restoration design, mill, stain, and glaze
  • Understand the benefits of using digital impressioning with your lab
  • Understand cone beam integration and planning of restoratively driven implants
  • Evaluate various case presentations and understand critical keys to success and failure of both lab and chairside restorations
  • Understand the steps in a team approach to successfully integrating digital impressioning and CAD/CAM into your practice

Speaker Bios

DR. JAMES KLIM

KlimDr. James Klim is an internationally recognized speaker, author, manufacture consultant, beta tester, and teacher of advanced functional and aesthetic CAD/CAM dentistry. With over 25 years of clinical experience working with all-ceramic restorations, Dr. Klim has developed sound clinical techniques that he is now applying to the CEREC process. He is passionate about sharing tools and templates that will assist other CEREC users with their success and satisfaction in the CAD/CAM restorative theater. Graduating Summa cum Laude, valedictorian, from Loma Linda University in 1984, Dr. Klim has been awarded high academic recognition by the Alpha Omega Fraternity and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society and has received the Prince Award from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. Dr. Klim has been awarded fellowships from the Academy of General Dentistry and Academy of Dental-Facial Esthetics. He is an Accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Klim has a full time restorative practice in Santa Rosa, California and is founder and director of the James Klim CADStar™ CEREC Training Center and hosts the international Klim cadstar.tv online CEREC training (viewed in over 150 countries).



DR. DARIN O’BRYAN

OBryanDr. Darin O’Bryan graduated in 1997 from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. He practiced in Minneapolis for seven years in a large group practice before moving to the coast of Oregon. Dr. O’Bryan currently resides in Coos Bay/North Bend where he has a private practice focusing on implant and digital dentistry. Dr. O’Bryan is faculty with CERECdoctors.com at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. He is an internationally published author on digital and CAD/CAM dentistry and has mentored thousands of dentists on how to integrate technology into their office. Dr. O’Bryan holds affiliations with the American Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.



DR. DAVE JULIANI

JulianiDr. Dave Juliani, maintains a private practice in Rochester Hills, MI, and is a national educator in the use of dental CAD/CAM technology and practice technology integration. A 1993 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, he completed a one year General Practice Residency, after which he served two years at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, where he was the Officer in Charge of Infection Control and Preventative Dentistry. Dr. Juliani has been a CEREC® user since 2003, is a CEREC® basic and advanced trainer, Sirona beta tester, faculty at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry, and a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. For the fifth consecutive year, he has been listed as one of America’s Top Dentists by the Consumer Research Council of America, and one of Detroit’s Top Dentists by Hour Detroit Magazine.
